Sleep to Feel Better

Feeling better can be as simple as heading to bed. We’re not saying it’s easy, but there are tougher pills to swallow
than a message to get more rest.

Getting enough quality sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your mental and emotional well-being.
Make it a priority this month to sleep better. Build a habit that lasts a lifetime and enjoy lasting benefits.

Sleep plays a crucial role in regulating our moods, emotions, and overall mental health. When we’re well-rested, we’re
better able to manage stress, think clearly, and maintain a positive outlook. On the flip side, not getting enough sleep
can leave us feeling irritable, anxious, and down.

Why Sleep Matters:

  1. 1. Sleep replenishes the mind. While you sleep, your brain is hard at work forming new pathways to help you learn, remember, and process emotions. When we compromise oursleep, we miss out on this natural, overnight “mental repair.”
  2. 2. Sleep boosts mood. We’ve all noticed that we get moody,
irritable, or even find ourselves with more serious mood-related issues when we are deprived of sleep. Prioritizing
sleep helps regulate mood and makes it easier for us to manage our emotions.
  3. 3. Sleep makes us more resilient to stress. When we’re
well-rested, we have more mental resources to cope with life’s inevitable stressors in a healthy way. Sleep debt
makes us more vulnerable to stress, while getting enough helps us be more present throughout the day, and empowers
us to reach for our tools when we need them.
  4. 4. Sleep sharpens focus. It’s much easier to concentrate and
stay focused after a good night’s sleep. This helps us learn, get into flow, and be more productive in our roles.
Lack of sleep clouds our thinking and decision-making skills.
